2026-2027 BUDGET DEVELOPMENT CALENDAR

• NOV. 2025 -  Prepare budget request packages to distribute to administrators and supervisors. Budget requests are due back to the district office by January 9th, 2026. Discuss with administrators and supervisors potential changes and needs for the 2026-2027 school year. Encourage shared decision-making process with Building & District Level Teams.

• DEC. 2025 - Prepare preliminary requests to St. Lawrence/Lewis BOCES for submission in January 2026. The Superintendent and Business Manager continue to work on identifying cost savings measures and assessing the needs of the district to provide potential changes.

• JAN. 2026 – Begin to assemble budget requests received from all schools and departments. Discuss educational needs with faculty, staff and community members. Continue meetings with administrators and supervisors regarding program and staffing changes. Review staff retirements. Garner tentative approval of any staff reductions.

• FEB. 2026 BUDGET DEVELOPMENT UPDATE: 2/10/26 @ 6:00 P.M. MS/HS @ Regular Board Meeting
  Update the Board at its regular monthly BOE meeting on the status of the Budget Planning Process.

• MAR. 2026 - FIRST BUDGET DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP DATE: 3/4/26 @ 6:00 P.M. @ Mooers - Regular Board Meeting
  1st run of Expenditure Budget with the details of proposed changes along with updated Revenue projections

• MAR.  2026 - SECOND BUDGET DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP & BUDGET ADOPTION DATE: 3/25/26 @ 6:00 P.M. @ Rouses Point
  Proposed Second run of Expenditure Budget and Revenue Status Report, along with an overview of reductions/changes to the overall budget.

• April 2026 Regular BOE Meeting  4/1/26@ 6:00P.M. @ MS/HS - Regular Board Meeting

• May 2026 - Budget Hearing 5/6/26  @ 6:00P.M. @ MS/HS - Regular Board Meeting
