Stop the spread of germs:

As we enter into cold and flu season, please keep in mind, that keeping your hands away from your face and keeping hands clean through improved hand hygiene are the most important steps we can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others.

When should you wash your hands:  Before, during, and after preparing food, before eating food, after using the toilet, after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing, after touching an animal, animal feed, or animal waste, after touching garbage.

How should we keep our hands clean: Lather your hands by rubbing them together with soap and water. Be sure to lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the "Happy Birthday" song from beginning to end twice.

  • Use hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
  • Never, ever share drinks or food from the same bottle or plate.
