Elementary Building Wide Program

Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) Program (Character Education)

School personnel give PAWSitive Cougar coupons to students to encourage and reward positive decision making skills as well as for performing good deeds. PAWSitive coupons are collected daily and rewarded with a pencil of the child's choice. Weekly drawings are made every Friday from the PAWSitive coupons collected, one winner is drawn from the primary grades (k-2) and one winner from our intermediate grades (3-5). The weekly winners recieve a free snack coupon for lunch. In addition, at the monthly assembly students are recognized by class for PAWSitive behaviors demonstrated during the lunch period. A 'Silver Spoon Award' is provided to the class for the month and will recieve a special 'treat' for their PAWSitive behavior. During the monthly assembly, students also recognize birthday's of the month , participate in singing the school song, and celebrate a skit dedicated to a CHARACTER WORD of the MONTH. 

 

Student Rider of the Month

Students are nominated by a bus driver for the following: Safe behaviors, Respectful attitude, Cooperative actions with bus driver/monitor and seat mate, and Responsible pick-up and drop off behaviors. The Rider of the Month recieves a certificate, special COUGAR gear, and group photo that is posted to the school bulletin board during the month.

 

Safe School Ambassadors Program 

This program consists of a small group of committed and trained 4th and 5th grade students who are leaders, display tolerance, model respect and help keep our school safe by reducing bullying behaviors.

 

Career Day (4th & 5th grade students)

Students gain knowledge of a wide variety of career options through presentations and interaction with various professionals in the community.
